Drainage

My Plumber Drains

We understand how inconvenient and unpleasant problems with drainage can be; from blocked sinks, loos and smelly drains to floods caused by backed up drains.  My Plumber has recently invested in some specialist drainage equipment, and taken on a full time drainage expert to handle any and all drainage work that you may need.

At My Plumber Drains, we'll use the right tool for the job.  Simple blockages may simply need to be rodded while other, more severe blockages would require us to use our drain corer or high pressure jetting machinery.  There are many possible causes for drainage problems, the most common being a build up of whatever has gone down them such as cooking fats, silt and leaves.  There can also be structural problems and developing issues such as pipes collapsing from age and subsidence, and pipe faults leading to leakage and tree root infiltration.

My Plumber Drains are also able to offer pavement cleaning, and gutter cleaning.

Our Equipment

Rods
For smaller blockages, and those on internal pipes in the house, we would normally start by using our rodding equipment on the blockage.  Basically, the rods are pushed down the drain and through the pipes, forcing through any blockage that they come into contact with.

Motorised Drain Corer
For use on blockages which standard rods are unable to clear we have a motorised drain corer, which consists of a flexible steel cable fixed with blades on the end to cut away debris and hardened deposits.

High Pressure Drain Jetter
This equipment consists of a van-fitted high pressure and velocity pump which operates at 200bar/3000psi @ 41lpm/9.1gpm.  This pump is designed to cut through the blockage, as well as remove scale and fat buildup from the pipework.

CCTV Surveys (when required)
For issues which are more difficult to resolve, or those that have tended to re-occur, we can conduct a CCTV survey on your pipes.  This will give you an accurate picture of what the problem is and where it is located, and it will help us estimate the work required to rectify the problem.  During a CCTV survey, our specialist will insert a CCTV camera into your pipework which will record what it sees as it is feed throughout the system.  As well as finding the source of blockages, a CCTV survey can be very helpful as a preventative measure as it can spot faults before they actually cause problems (for example cracks in a pipe that would  be susceptible to leakage as well as tree root infiltration).
